The Camel House

The Camel House, Benenden, Kent TN17 4EU, based at the headquarters of the Wild Camel Protection Foundation, is a self-catering cottage, but with so many wonderful places to eat within a few minutes' drive, there's no need to cook. The kitchen has a good-sized fridge, an Aga, toaster, kettle, pans, spices etc. so there should be everything you need to be able to cook ‘at home’. There’s an excellent little butcher in the centre of Benenden and you'll find the village shop with the Post Office just opposite. If you are interested in saving the wild camel and John Hare’s mission to protect this critically endangered animal from extinction, then there is much to see in the headquarter building nearby and John will willingly show you round.
